Bitumen is a combination of Natural Fluids that are highly Viscid, Black, Gluey, Completely Solvable in Carbon Disulfide, and made mainly of highly compressed Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons.

Bitumen which is found in natural or crude bitumen is a sticky and tar like form of petroleum. It is very thick and heavy and to make it flow heat is required or it should be diluted. In a room temperature it acts like a cold molasses while the refined Bitumen is obtained by the fractional distillation of crude oil. This is a heaviest fraction with the highest boiling point which is 525 degree (977F).

Uses of Bitumen

Bitumen is mostly used in making roads and other it is used in waterproofing products. It is also used in the production of roofing felt and is used in sealing the flat roofs.
